The Cafe at Harry’s Place was purpose built by Carpentaria to offer employment, training and work experience opportunities in the hospitality industry to people with disability. Through our Supported Employment and Training Program, NDIS participants with an interest in kitchen and barista skills can work towards recognised qualifications at their own pace, in a supportive environment.

Eligible applicants can work towards certified qualifications while undertaking paid employment. The Café also offers opportunities for work experience, skill-building, and volunteering.

Learn more about our Supported Employment and Training program here, and access a referral form here.

Jack is in the kitchen, dressed in his chef uniform, holding a tray of mini quiches just pulled from the oven.

Jack, one of the cafe’s qualified chefs, started his journey in Supported Training and Employment with Carpentaria, and has completed his Certificate III in Commercial Cookery while working alongside trainer Donna.
